All the above activities will culminate into the mega 2-day summit “NERES 1.0” at IIE where the 20 winners will be granted a reward of Rs. 5 lacs each. To make the summit not just another pitching event, IIE intends to make it very interactive and informative for all participants. Plenary sessions are being planned in different sectors. To make these sessions most impactful, IIE wishes to address challenges in these sectors and highlight emerging trends and opportunities. Different stake holders with knowledge in the entrepreneurial eco system will be a part of the summit.

In this regard, IIE organised the first awareness workshop at IIE on 3rd January 2020. Followed by a press meet press meet on 7th January 2020 at Guwahati Press Club to create awareness about the summit and the awareness workshops across NER before the summit. Present at the press meet were Director IIE – Dr Abhijit Sharma, Senior Faculty Member– Dr. Sriparna B Baruah, President FINER - Mr. Pabitra Buragohain and Vice President FINER- Mr. Rajeev Agarwal along with other officials of IIE and FINER. Dr. Abhijit Sharma shared the institute’s endeavours over the years towards promotion and development of entrepreneurship across NER. He spoke about the objective of the summit and that this initiative will open doors for many start-ups to scale who otherwise cannot move ahead due to financial constraints. He called out for applications to NERES 1.0 summit from the remotest parts of NER. Dr. Sriparna B Baruah emphasised on the need to promote the start-ups from NER which often gets neglected due to the lagging start up eco system here in this region. She further mentioned that NERES 1.0 summit has received a very positive response from the start-ups and other entrepreneurial forums as this is the first time that a big amount is being given as a grant to the start-ups without any equity. Mr. Buragohain of FINER expressed his happiness to be associated with this initiative in which IIE and FINER are together working towards an enabling eco-system for start-ups through the summit NERES 1.0.
